Bulb Plants
Bulb plants grow from underground storage organs that hold the energy needed to send up fresh leaves and flowers, often after a period of rest. This group includes true bulbs such as daffodils, hyacinths and amaryllis, as well as tubers, corms and rhizomes like dahlias, gladiolus and calla lilies. Many are valued for their dramatic seasonal blooms and are easy to enjoy in pots, borders or as indoor flowering plants. Their needs vary by species, but good drainage and an appropriate dormant season are especially important for many bulb plants.
